Employment and Education in Cranberry Township Today, residents of a manufactured or modular home in Cranberry Township can enjoy a range of local entertainment, like movies at one of the area’s two theatres, a round at Cranberry Highlands Golf Course, or a game at the nearby UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. Later, the land was given to William and Mathew Graham as payment for fighting the Revolutionary War and has been growing ever since. These wild berries attracted wildlife from deer to rabbits, thus bringing in Native American tribes for hunting. This Pennsylvania township community was named for the bushes of cranberries that grew along its creeks and rivers. While these two videos were created in 2015-16, they are great representations of the public school district serving Cranberry Township.History of Cranberry Township goes back even farther than the American settlers can date. Proud of the Past, Committed to the Future And Pittsburgh’s great universities including University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie-Mellon, Duquesne and more, are just a short drive away. Butler County Community College (BC3) has a branch campus in the Township. Branch campuses of several other colleges are also located in Cranberry. Collectively, these schools offer a variety of business, professional, and liberal arts curricula for both traditional and non-traditional students. The Regional Learning Alliance - a unique campus shared more than a dozen institutions of higher education - is located in the Cranberry Woods Business Park. Saint Kilian Parish School, and North Catholic High School - is also located in Cranberry. It includes a network of nine schools, including three in the Township itself. The Township is served by the Seneca Valley School District, a rising star in the region’s public education system. Educational excellence is something Cranberry takes seriously.
